Heavy rain overnight continues throughout the morning as a large band of wet weather works its way slowly up through the country. Rather than sweeping across as is usually the case, this weather front has little forward momentum, and is travelling up the country, so we stay under the rain for much longer. There's chaos in Salford, where I work, as the rain affects power supplies and cuts off most of the business district for the whole morning.
Dryer in the afternoon, the water subsides and everywhere quickly gets back to normal. Whilst a very wet day, it's been a little less dramatic at Oakdale Weather Station - it was as wet less than three weeks ago!
