About Oakdale Weather Station

Oakdale Weather Station is based in Blackburn, Lancashire, UK. We are an amateur meteorology site using an entry-level Fine Offset weather station and our data is analysed with Cumulus software. Slowly brightening into a nice day

A damp but calm start, a heavy dew on the grass perhaps giving an early sign that we are slipping closer to Autumn.  Fairly cloudy, a thin veil with one or two holes allowing some sunlight through. The forecast says the cloud will hang around all day, but it always looked like it might brighten up, and so it proved with some nice spells of sunshine developing by lunchtime and through the afternoon.  Pleasant in the sunshine but a nip in the air when in the shade due to the cool wind direction (again) - a regular feature of this summer.
