The weather is in a curious phase at the moment, with a strong low pressure just to the west of Denmark and a large area of high pressure about 400 miles west of Ireland. This is bringing strong winds and some rain to the north-east coast and eastern England, but further west we're in a relatively dry stream of northerly winds. And there's little sign of a change...
