Sunny, but cold

The line of cloud that passed over late last night was indeed the transition from overcast and cloudy conditions to clear skies.  Of course, although we're now in late April, in our northern latitude this did mean an overnight frost, but also as conditions stayed favourable throughout the day, would we be in line for plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures?

Right on the first count, but wrong on the second - a chilly west-to-northwest breeze throughout the day meant that although the direct sun is now quite strong (as I discovered after being in the garden most of the day without a hat), if the wind isn't favourable then there's still a distinct chill in the air.  Still, few of us would grumble given the sunshine - you can always add layers to keep warm!
