Heavy rain during the early hours but afterwards skies brightened, bringing some spells of sunshine between plenty of cumulus cloud. Despite the forecast hinting of heavy showers during the afternoon, and even though some clouds were dark and ominous, the rain stayed away and it didn't feel too bad in the afternoon sunshine. There was a noticeable wind all day, reminding us that we are in between a trio of low pressure areas to the north, west and south.
